Today was a big day- we finally finished replanning our route after our original plan to hike through the Presidential's got snowed on. Our new plan involves hiking on a portion of the AT by the kinsman's range. Very exciting :)

We started by meeting with Rosanna again today at 12.30 by the OC, and picked up some gear that we were missing including a hiking bag, bear hang rope and details such as p-cord and a baby Nalgene to carry hold our cooking oil. From there we walked over to the Health Center to talk to Sue and learn more about building a first aid kit. We managed to arrange a time to build one together and go over the materials that we already have tomorrow.

Having that time set up was a bit of a relief so we went back to Kailee's and started sorting the gear from the OC appropriately and started waterproofing the tent & rainfly. Yesterday during some of our testing we realised that due to age, the rainfly on our tent isn't very waterproof, so our solution was to re-seal the stitching on the tent, and to spray the rainfly with waterproof spray - usually used from things like shoes and jackets. We're hoping that that was enough to waterproof and keep us mostly dry on our hike, so we'll test it again with the hose tomorrow once we're sure that the spray and the seal has completely set & dried.

During this process, we were splitting our efforts between the tent and setting up our spice kit. Within this hour, Lynne came over (our project mentor) and checked some of our gear, helped with the tent and mainly - helped us plan a new route! Once we managed to finalise our plan, we shared with Libby.  Tomorrow we'll start at the Health Center, and hopefully manage to complete our first aid kit.
