Day 7 - Hike

I got up early this morning to call my parents and to give myself time to mentally prepare for our challenge of this hike. Kailee and I started rushing around at 10.00 this morning gathering our charging cables, filling water bottles, etc… as Libby arrived at about 11.30. This gave her about 30 minutes to pack her bag before our agreed upon time to leave with Rosanna at noon for the trailhead.
I would say that my biggest regret from this morning was not taking the time in the morning before the chaos, to make a list of everything that we needed to do before we could pull out of Kailee’s driveway. This list would now (in hindsight) look something like this:
Plan for lunch (w/ time)
Pull up address for trailhead before it’s time to leave & before pulling out of the driveway
Make sure toothbrush, shoes, chargers, and water bottles are set aside and ready
The main thing for today was really that we were struggling with the address, between leaving on time (for our sake and also for Rosanna’s sake), bad cellular connection, and car sickness, we messed up the address for the trailhead just slightly, resulting in us being dropped off at the AT & highway 25A junction a little bit more North than anticipated. No worries though, we figured it out, and it resulted in us simply being at one campsite ahead of schedule. It was easy for us to adapt and move on from there.
